Taxation & Native American Law
The Office of Zachary E. Love, PLLC.
PRACTICE
AREAS
Tax Preparation
We can prepare and file your State and Federal personal or business tax returns no matter how complex or simplistic the tax returns are. We are licensed to prepare state income tax returns in the state of New York as well.
Native American Law
Depending on the jurisdiction or (Court) we may be able to represent you regarding your legal needs in Tribal Court. Mr Love has represented clients in Tribal Court in the areas of criminal, family, taxation disputes, and civil litigation. We are licensed in Tribal Courts in Wisconsin, California, and Washington.
Tax Settlements/Offer in Compromise
If you are indigent or incapable of paying taxes that are assessed against you or owed, you may be eligible to settle your tax debt for a fraction of what the debt is. With an Officer in Compromise, we can conduct an assessment and see if you qualify to enter into a federal or state tax settlement to settle the tax debt once and for all, without paying it in full and negotiate with taxing authorities for you.
Audit Defense
If you are under examination of facing an audit by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or other taxing authority, whether personally or your business, you are not alone. Our firm can assist you and represent you during the audit by filing a power of attorney or tax authorization form. Do not take on the taxing authorities alone, as the process can be daunting and stressful, and the stakes are high pending the outcome.
Back Taxes/Tax Compliance
If you have years of unfiled tax returns, or have lost your financial records to complile your tax returns, we can assist you and help you get caught up and become tax compliant. Despite if it's only been a year or more, we can obtain your wage and income transcripts from the IRS and prepare and file your back taxes to get you caught up.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Political Science/Public Administration and legal studies cum laude from Walden University. He obtained his law degree from Purdue University Global (Purdue Global Law School) and graduated with an Executive Juris Doctor law degree.
He has extensive experience in Native American Law and taxation, and has represented clients in multiple tribal Courts throughout the Pacific Northwest in legal matters from civil litigation, family law, and criminal defense in said Tribal Courts.
Mr. Love is currently admitted to practice law in Tribal Courts in California, Wisconsin and Washington, and is licensed as a Tax Preparer with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and with the state
of New York. Being a Circular 230 representative, Mr. Love is
authorized to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service. Additionally, he holds a Notary Public license in the state of Washington. He has been admitted and recognized as a “Tribal Attorney.”
Notable cases Mr. Love has appeared in, were; In Re: Michael Finley, Gene Nicholson, Inchelium Short-Stop, LLC and Gene’s Native Smokes, LLC v. The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, et all. Love obtained a favorable outcome for his clients who were facing unlawful taxation on fuel sales tax, and were withholding his client’s tobacco tax rebate funds.
Another case Love successfully litigated in Tribal Court, was; The Confederated Tribe of the Colville Reservation v. William Parr. This was a criminal case for attempted escape and possession of drugs, in which Mr. Parr was incarcerated when Love was retained. Mr. Love was able to secure Mr. Parr’s release from jail three months prior to his scheduled release date. Mr. Love has appeared on many other cases in Tribal Courts throughout the PNW and has obtained favorable outcomes for his clients in most cases.
Mr. Love is an aggressive Tribal litigator and has taken on some cases that many other Tribal advocates would refrain from, as a result of political/legal retaliation. As a result of litigating for over a year in the Colville Tribal Court In Re: Finley, Nicholson, et all. v. Colville Tribes the Business Council, in which were named defendants in the case, ironically voted to disbar Mr. Love in Colville Tribal Court as a result of litigating the “Tax Case” and exposing some of the Council’s corruption.
On January 20, 2021 the case made the front page of the Statesman Examiner as it was the first time the Tribe had been challenged on their business practices. As of today, Mr. Love is still an active bar member in three different Federal jurisdiction Courts, hence Tribal Courts throughout the United States, and looks forward to his next big
controversial challenge for his clients.
